Raymond G. Mullins, Attorney at Law P.C. has been in existence in Ypsilanti, Michigan, continuously since August 2, 1974. The firm has been involved in the general practice of the law. Major areas of practice include divorce and family law, criminal law, civil rights and personal injury law, probate and small business law.
The firm has represented clients in the Michigan trial courts, the Michigan Court of Appeals, the Michigan Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and Western District of Michigan and the United States Circuit Court of Appeal for the 6th Circuit. Several Writs of Certiorari have been filed with the Supreme Court of the United States.
The firm has defended clients in many criminal cases in federal court including but not limited to major illegal drug conspiracies, racketeering, and bank- robbery. Criminal defense in state felony cases have involved the following matters: criminal sexual conduct or rape, armed robbery, embezzlement, home invasion, gun possession, controlled substances and felonious assaults. Representation of state misdemeanor cases include drunken and reckless driving, retail fraud and domestic assaults.
Since 1974 the firm has represented male and female clients in the following civil areas: divorce [(small and routine as well as large complex cases) including issues of child support and custody, parenting time, property settlement and alimony], wills and probate, guardianships, conservatorships, juvenile law, personal injury (including automobile negligence, slip and fall, civil rights), labor law (including wrongful termination and discrimination issues), landlord and tenant law (representing both landlords and tenants, and debtor/creditor law.
The firm has litigated several cases regarding individual constitutional rights that have garnered nationwide attention.
While the firm still continues to aggressively represent clients regarding each of aforementioned areas of the law, cases which will have an impact on the civil rights jurisprudence of Michigan as well as of the United States are welcome.
The firm is interested in social engineering for minorities. As a result, the firm has donated many pro bono hours for the NAACP and other non-profit civil rights organizations. The firm has worked with and is eager to work with both for-profit and non-profit businesses and organizations, including churches.
